You Tube Playlists

As we all know, Current education is about using technology and making learning easy and fun. So, many of us are now using various tools in our day-to-day teaching-learning process so that our students get actively engaged and get maximum learning and development.

Nowadays, we prefer Youtube videos to supplement our learning resources. we create videos on our own or we can even share already curated videos with our students to provide additional information about a topic that we are teaching.

Sometimes, it becomes difficult for students to view the videos as youtube is a huge platform having a huge variety of content. So, there is a feature named YOUTUBE PLAYLIST that can be created and shared with students so that they can be viewed in one place rather than searching for them on youtube and wasting their time and energy.

Let's learn how to create a youtube playlist and share them with your students and friends.

 Playlists: 

Playlists are basically a collection of videos that can be organized according to our needs and preferences. The videos in the playlists can be your own being shared on youtube or by any other person. 

Creating playlists:

The playlists can be created by following some simple steps:

• Search for a video that you want to share in a playlist on youtube. Open youtube.com in the google chrome browser. In the search box, type the name of the video or any keyword of the content of which you want a video. For example, I want to share some lessons with  Grade 9 students regarding Economics. I searched for economics class 9 Chapter 1 and when I pressed the search button I got the following results for class 9 economics chapter 1.

• I selected the class 9 Economics video by clicking on it and it appeared like this:

• Below the video, there are some options such as Like, Share, and Clip. Click on three dots, and it will show you the Save and Report option, click on Save.

• A dialog box opens with various checkboxes like watch later, and other playlists that you have created earlier. There is CREATE NEW PLAYLIST option at the bottom. Click on Create New Playlist.

• Enter the Name of your Playlist as I have written Economics Class 9. Now, set the privacy of the playlist as to, who can see the available videos in your playlist. It can be done by selecting any one of the three options available: Public, Unlisted, or Private. 
• The public option allows anyone on youtube can search and view the playlist.
• The unlisted option allows anyone with the link to view it. 
• The private option allows only you to view it.

It's preferable to select Unlisted as it will allow the students to view the playlist with whom the link of the playlist is shared. 

• After selecting privacy, click on CREATE button. Your playlist will be created.

• The playlist of ECONOMICS CLASS 9 is created and it can be seen in the left panel of the youtube home page.

• Similarly, you can add multiple videos by following the same steps again and putting the videos in the Economics Class 9 Playlist by clicking on the check box. The video gets added to the selected playlist.

• In this way, Playlist can be created. you can view the playlist by clicking on it on the left panel. You can add descriptions to the playlist for the students.

• Sharing the Playlist:  The playlist can be shared by clicking on the share option.

• A dialog box appears. you can either copy the link of the playlist and share it with your students or directly share the playlist with WhatsApp, Facebook, and other sharing options available.

In this way, you can create a youtube playlist and share it with students.
